Signs Never Sleep – the 24/7 and 365 Rule

Visitors to your town, mall, store front, hospital, and airport need information 365 days of the year, 24 hours a day. Since stores and information booth staff require occasional sleep, you can’t always provide one-on-one contact to visitors who are passing through any time of day or night.

This is where a kiosk – typically a small structure that stays open 365 days out of the year and never sleeps – comes in handy. They can be used to tell a story, promote events and products or provide information. Not only can they tell you where you are (“you are here!”), but they can also tell you where to go (“you can get there from here”).

Location is critical for visitor information, and you may need kiosks at major entrances or the busiest locations. Kiosks complement the staff and volunteers that provide information and aren’t meant to replace them. As the famous Motel 6 slogan says, “We’ll leave the light on for you.”
